    Ground Beef with Green Beans and Cabbage

    Ingredients:

    -Canola oil (2-3 tbsp)
    -Garlic (2-3 cloves, chopped)
    -Onion (1 whole, sliced)
    -Fish Sauce (1 tbsp)
    -Soy Sauce (2 tbsp)
    -Ground Beef (1-2 lbs)
    -Green Beans (1-2 lbs, cut about 2-3 inches)
    -Cabbage (1 head, cut in half, then slice)
    -Black Pepper (a pinch or two)

    Turn the heat between low-medium, put canola oil.
    Saute onion, then garlic.
    Add the ground beef and stir for a minute or two. Once the meat is brown.
    Add fish sauce and green beans and stir for a minute.
    You can then throw the cabbage in the pot.
    Add the soy sauce and black pepper.
    **you may add a little bit water if it’s too salty for your taste**
    Cover the pot and let it cook on medium/low heat for 15-20 minutes, then stir and serve with rice YUM!

    Manila Clams Recipe (Halaan)

     

    Ingredients:

    Olive oil (2-3 tbsp)
    Garlic (3 cloves, chopped)
    Onion (1 whole, diced)
    Tomatoes (2 whole, diced)
    Ginger (1 cup, sliced)
    Fish Sauce (1 tbsp)
    Manila Clam (about 24 pcs.)
    Black Pepper (a pinch or two or up to you)
    Bokchoy (cut them in half)
    Water

    First turn the heat to low-medium, wait a minute or two. Put olive oil.
    Throw the garlicĀ first, then ginger and saute for a minute or two.
    Add onion and saute for a minute.
    Add the fish sauce.
    Then tomatoes.
    Add about a cup of water.
    Then black pepper and stir.
    Place the manila clams in the pan and close it with a lid (FYI, clams cooks quite fast)
    Once you see the manila clams are opening up (that should be the indication that they are done, then place it in a bowl)
